This barley wine was aged in freshly emptied maple syrup barrels from Canada (that had previously been used to age bourbon), and is set apart from it’s sibling beers Paragon 2021 & Off the Rack Paragon Rum barrel by it’s much sweeter body. This plays brilliantly with the obvious maple flavours imparted by the barrels as well as classic barley wine notes of treacle, prunes, marzipan, spices and vanilla with oak flavours lingering in the background.

Аромат топового Барлика, сразу ощущается бочка с деревом а от нее сладкий барбон с ванилью, достаточно много сиропа кленового и карамели, коричневый сахар, есть при этом легкая дымка. Цвет темно кармельный, пенки нету. Вкус очень мощный и сладкий, снова бурбон с бочкой сладкий с карамелью и ванилью, кленовый сироп на втором плане, немного сахара, как будто намеки на бобы то ли кофе. Алкоголя немного.

Bottle shared with Joen. Opaque black color, average sized head. Aroma is malts, raisins, dried prunes with bourbon. Maple is not that obvious tbh. Flavor is similar with a brown malt bitterness in the finish and a hint of burnt sugar. Caramelized sugars. Solid, very solid but also very heavy. Slow sipper.

Bottle, 750 ml, shared with Max, MiroB and Bazz. Dark brown with beige head. Sweet and decadent maple. Dark fruit, sweet, some chocolate, bourbon, brown sugar. Medium sweetness.

Flaska från Speciaalbierpakket, 2021. Mörk kastanjebrun med liten ljusbeige krona. Drucken jämte Rum-variant. Tydlig lönnsirapston. Torkad frukt, lite läder, lönnsirap, höstlöv, kastanj, fat, kolaremmar.

Kumlefjorden Juleølsmaking 2022. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, alcohol, maple. Flavor is roasted malt, alcohol, maple, sugar, dried fruit, caramel, wood, chocolate. Powerful beer.
