10.05.2024, 0,75l bottle (#133/200) @ home:
Small bubbly-creamy shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet boozy, dark malts, oak, booze, bark, dark sugar, peat, old rope, burnt candi sugar, cough syrup, spices. Taste is sweet boozy, dark sugar, old rope, bark, booze, dark malts, cough syrup, burnt candi sugar, vanilla, raisins, fruit stones, oak, sweet chocolate. Sweet boozy mouthfeel. Fair enough, but not really my cup of coffee. Just way too much and all over the place...

Bottle @ Telfords. Dark, dirty brown body under a small, fast disappearing beige head. Strong aroma of malt, licorice, dry fruit, hint of oak and quite much alcohol. Taste is sweet dark malt, toffee, dry fruit, mild sweet licorice, vinous alcohol, Port, oak, brown sugar and even more alcohol but in a very smooth and ‘’moor’ish’’ way. Just a small sip gives a rich and nice taste, this one could last for a long time. Fine body with a long lasting warming aftertaste. A really nice sipper.

Bottle, 75cl. A dark brown, murky beer with more or less no head. Some beige bubbles. The aroma has lots of brown sugar, with coffee, chocolate, dark dried fruit, toffee, alcohol and oak notes. After a couple of minutes the aroma changes a bit, with less sugar, close to no chocolate and coffee, but more booze and toffee and dark dried fruit. Licorice too. It's full bodied and warming, very soft, with a good dash of sweetness. Roasted malts, licorice, brown sugar, some coffee and chocolate and toffee. Oak, hints of vanilla and alcohol. Lasting finish. Nice indeed. A bit sweet, perhaps a bit warning, but sure fine. 240320
