Have drunk this in the past but not rated in before. Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours a bright copper with a small white head. Malts and caramel in the nose. Sweet and juicy in the mouth with autumn fruit and hints of citrus on a caramel base. Later on some hoppiness comes through and there is a sweet finish. Surprisingly this is a pretty decent beer.

Historical tick which I am adding as a rate so that I can see the impact it has on my stats. 500 Beers To Try Before You Die. Railway Inn, Winchester. It's fine.

10/7/2019. Cask at Hamilton Hall, Liverpool Street Station. Pours slightly hazy pale amber with a lasting bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, hops, tart citrus, berries and caramel. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with light and probably unintended tartness. Medium body, slight oily texture and soft carbonation. Vinegary edge. Potentially still being served past its prime.

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - deep amber to red. Nice lacing on the head and it's well proportioned. Nose - toffee, honey, hobnob. Taste - stewed apple, grapes. Toffee ando biscuit comes through afterwards. Palate - close to medium bodied. Crunchy and tangy in texture. Long tapered finish and significant linger. Overall - good example of ESB style.

Cask ale, 5.1 % abv, half pint, at Hedley Verity (JDW). Nitro, creamy off-white head blanketing the glass. Misty amber. Aroma has vague moments of toffee and dough. Toffee and nuts to the taste buds with a backdrop of dried fruits. Distant bittersweet finish. Accepted. (Leeds 05.07.2017).
