This Imperial Stout Is a blend of two different Imperial stouts. One was aged in a Tokaji dessert wine barrel from Hungary, whilst the other in a 12year Blair Athol Scottish Whisky barrel

The combo of the two barrels giving it a big old school imperial stout vibe, along with a sweet desert wine.
A little sweet, a little savoury,a lot delicious.

Cannibalism & Witchcraft Is a reference to the “Great Famine” from the 1300's in Europe. Where Men, Women and Children were banded as witches , blamed and burnt at the stake. And where cannibalism was sometimes the choice between living and not

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Black colour, no head and aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roast malt. Taste is sweet, roasted, malty, molasses, caramel, fruit cake, with chocolate, vanilla, peaty hint, some booze and bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, full bodied, soft carbonation, drying boozy mellow roast bitter finish. Nicely sippable.

29/3/2025. Can from HOPS, Douglas, Isle of Man. Pours black with a small tan coloured head. Aroma is woody, peaty, smoked, chocolate, truffle, caramel. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Good body, smooth, soft carbonation. Much improved on initial impressions, with mellow peatiness just at the right level to enjoy.

Can thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - deep brown to black, a bit under carbonated. Nose - dark chocolate and an edge of raisin. Taste - dark chocolate and prunes with hazelnuts. Generally fruit and nut bar. Palate - medium to full bodied, creamy sweet middle. Rich and saline smokiness. Overall - great stuff.

Can shared at CBJ - London. Cheers! Pours clear, black-brown with a modest, foamy beige cap. Medium sweet flavour with a nice touch of smokey peat, prunes and raisins, light chocolate, earth. Full bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Warming finish with further peaty character, dark mats, aged dark fruits. Great fun, rather drinkable.
