Auch dieses Naturprodukt wird ohne Zusätze, wie Farb- oder Konservierungsstoffe, nach alter Tradition mit dunklen Spezialmalzen – speziell für uns hergestellt – und Aromahopfen schonend eingebraut und nicht filtriert. Die leichte Trübung und der Bodensatz sprechen für die natürliche Qualität des Produkts.
Kreiert im Varus-Jahr 2009 („Varus-Jahr-Edition“), gebraut und abgefüllt in Lippe-Detmold. Natürlich in Bio-Qualität.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein schwarzes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, erdig, leicht würzig. Geschmack röstmalzig, leichte Kaffe Aromen, erdig, trocken malzig, leicht süß.

Black appearance, with a tan medium foamy head. Nose of roasted malt, licorice, smoked cheese. Tastes of bread, with a little grassy bitterness. Quite anonymous and watery, though still nice ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown color with a half finger thick light tan head. Aroma is toasted malt and esters.

330ml bottle. Clear dark brown colour with average, frothy, minimally lacing, tan head. Roasty, dark malty aroma with a minimal spicy and grassy touch. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty, hints of coffee, in the finish minimally metallic.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Quite much pitch black colour with a mediumsized brown foamy head. Aroma is roasted malts, some toasted notes, mild toffee and some mild caramel and mild ashes as well. Flavour is roasted malts, some ashes, toasted notes as well as mild smoked wet wooden notes. Rather ashy aftertaste.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Deep amber coloured, hazy - presumably - ,quickly vanishing off-white head; moderate dryish roasty to nutty nose, some fruits underneath, light bodied, very soft; dryish bitter-sweet flavour - but not too dry..; fruits in the sweeter toasty finish. Pretty O.Ok. ....

Bottle. Amber colour with a beige head. aroma is caramel, malt, hop. Flavour is caramel, malt, hop. OK beer.

Röstig malziger Antrunk, der eine passende Süße beinhaltet. So süffig geht es weiter, das Bier wird von nun an eher milder als stärker. Die Intensität bleibt aber angenehm und passend, die Röstigkeit behält ihre Intensität bei. Herb-röstiger Abgang, der flascher als im Antrunk erscheint. Insgesamt ein gelungenes Bier. 8/11/11/10/11/11

Bottle 500ml. w. swing top.Clear medium to dark red brown color with a large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, bread, roasted, caramel, coffee, brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110319]
