Can at Chriso tasting (thanks Chris) 18/11/12. Lightly hazed amber with a decent off white head that retains well. Nose comprises caramel malts, hops, light pine, touch of tropical fruits. Taste follows, sweetish sugars stand out in the flavour. Medium bodied with soft carbonation leading to a bitter sweet finish. Touch above average, wouldn’t seek out again.

Can at Chriso Tasting, London. Pours perfectly clear gold with a fine, white cream head. Malt-forward nose, some pine. Medium sweet flavor with light, toasty sugars, pine, dry citrus. Medium bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Mildly warming to finish with some sweet, pale malts and further piney hops. Fine.

Can: Poured a deep orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of earthy and bitter hops is dominating. Taste is a good mix between some earthy hops with a medium bitter finish. Caramel malt backbone provides a nice balance to the hops with some light residual sugar. Body is quite full with good carbonation. A bit too sweet for my taste but still enjoyable nonetheless.

500mL can, split several ways, pours a hazy golden orange with a big foamy beige head. Aroma of light resinous hops, syrup and lots of floral notes. Flavour is very floral, with soap, some vegetal notes, cotton candy, a little armpit / body odour - very strange flavours, not sure how much better I can describe this. Finishes vegetal and with a lingering bitterness. Bizarre - not so good.

Sampled at 14.9 celcius. Nice look to it with a decent antique-white head and copper-brown body with plenty of carbonation. The aroma is sweet hops, lots of sugary hoppy goodness there but little else. Flavour is a lot of hops but it has little complexity; nonetheless it’s got an okay dry finish and the high alcohol level is completely hidden. It’s a great session beer, but of course it’ll be a short session with such high alcohol!

Beautiful hippie can that fits the Woodstock theme. Pours a hazy dark amber colour with a big foamy beige head that lasts a while and leaves wavy lacing. Fresh scent of hop with pine needles notes, grapefruit and mild caramel. Smooth mouthfeel and medium-bodied. Not as bitter as the aromas lead to believe. Still, super easy to drink with the grapefruit dryness in the finish and a nice light lingering. Very well-balanced for summer and most Canadians not used to killer IBU from the States (IBU is 80 for this one).
