Gear Up IPA, a Northwest-Style IPA with an ultra-tropical hop profile. From the recipe to the can artwork, every element of Gear Up IPA is meant to celebrate the majestic region HUB calls home. The beer is brewed with organic malted barley from Oregon, naturally filtered water from the Bull Run Watershed, and local hops from Oregon and Washington. The label portrays abstract landscapes of the Pacific Northwest sprinkled with images of the gear required to get outside and explore the natural world.

Light golden with a white head. Tons of sediment in the glass. Tropical and bright citrus throughout. A bit think bodied and kind of a one trick pony. Nice but not very memorable.

Citrus nose. Slightly hazy pale golden colour, tall macropore soapy white head, receding slowly, good lacing. Aroma pale malts, lemon, orange peel, pineapple. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, hoppy, grapefruit, some pine. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, sweetbitter aftertaste, fruity, dry bitter finish, nice fresh and smooth IPA.

Draught at Portland Craft, Vancouver; 12oz
Hazy golden color with small compact head. Nice aroma, fruity hops, fresh. The mouthfeel is quite dry, malt is crisp, it has a touch of soft caramel, the bitterness is strong, actually pithy in the final, the hops are resinous, but overall it seems a bit old.
Good beer.

Tap @ Bakgården Både &. Unclear orange body with a small, lacing off-white head. Aroma has citric fruit, grapefruit. Can’t really find the tropical fruits that’s described by the brewery here. Flavor is light, pale malt, citric fruit, grapefruit and grass. Quite bitter. Medium to light bodied and mostly bitter aftertaste. OK, pretty straight forward IPA.
