The GUEUZE TILQUIN À L'ANCIENNE – CUVÉE ARTHUR was blended on 2 March 2023 in honor of Arthur Tilquin (1865 - 1932), great-grandfather of Pierre, with 20% 1-year old lambics, 30% 2-year old lambics and 50% 3-year old lambics. Unfiltered and unpasteurized, this beer was refermented and matured in the bottle for 1 year.
Arthur Tilquin was a brickmaker in Pesche, near Couvin. He is in the centre of the photo with his cap and pipe. In the background, you can see the brick kiln.
It is part of our Family Tree Project.

Bottle split at the CBJ tasting, thanks to Danny, 27/11/24. Hazed orange with an off white cap that clears to the edge. Nose is pissy green berries, hedgerow, vinous, funk, horse blanket, wood must, citric shreds. Taste comprises sharp lemon, grape must, tannins, farmyard nip, damp hay. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced acidic rise. Solid kit.

Mycket gott

Panda courtesy of Theydon_Bois, cheers Colin! Hazed golden colour, thin bubbly white rim and aroma of fruity, funk, citric rind. Taste is tart, soured, fruity, funky, lemony zesty with citric acidity. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry zingy soured finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottle shared at CBJ - big thanks to Dan. Pours faintly hazed, rich gold with a small, foamy white topping. Light sweet flavour with sturdy acidity, pale wood, mild citric bite, low funk. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Bone dry finish, quenching, more drying pale wood, moderate acidity, a little grass and citrus peel. Sound.
