This dark ale is a showcase of malt and inspired by the historic porter ales of London. Rich, malty and chocolatey with hints of coffee and caramel. If you’re into pairings, it couples perfectly with a rich chocolate dessert or toasted marshmallows around a campfire.

Bottle from the Gravity Station, Cardiff. Pours a clear deep chestnut brown with a small but lasting beige head. Aroma of chocolate malt, caramel, coffee, vanilla, also slightly nutty. Light to medium sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, texture a little thin and over carbonated leaving a slightly acidic aftertaste. That aside, still a good porter.

330ml bottle: out of date by 5 months when opened on 5th July 2016. Poured slowly into a Chimay badged chalice at home. Very dark body, almost black: the beige head soon fell away to a wispy covering and a collar. Huge aroma of chocolate greets your nose and carries on into the taste. Semi-sweet, semi-bitter and 100% malty: rich, smooth and an easy drinking Porter all round.
