Forbidden Pumpkin is an Imperial Pumpkin milkshake IPA that clocks in at 9.3% brewed with malted oats and flaked wheat, double dry hopped with Citra and Mosaic then fermented atop a monstrous amount of pumpkins, vanilla beans, pumpkin spice and milk sugar. This hazy IPA pairs perfectly with hoodies, fall hikes and nights out by the fire pit with friends!

Super hazy golden and straw body with a very thick, four to five centimetre tall creamy tan microfoamed head that tops the beer for a long time, over top of the 90 per cent opaque body with some chunky notes floating throughout. Aroma of nutmeg, allspice, pumpkin pie notes, lactose, white chocolate, some relatively strong grainy malts, with a light crisp hop scent here, too. Full-bodied; Very rich, super creamy, lactosey and strong pumpkin/squash notes bring out the depth and support for the lighter, but still noticeable spice notes of allspice, some nutmeg and a kick of lactose, too - very nice and super complex, with some mild hops here, as well. Aftertaste shows a ton of white chocolate, malty, spicey and pretty complex bitter pungency, but nice and full of flavour, with some cream and lactose that helps with the squash here to define this. Overall, a very nice, ultra-complex beer that seems to hit all the right notes at the right times, with good sugars here, too, but not really enough hops here at all to be called an 'IPA' in the slightest. Still an amazing, complex beer that should be sampled if you can find it, but don't expect an IPA! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased from GlenRo Spirit Shoppe in Monroe, Connecticut on 05-September-2022 for US$4,49, canned on 12-October-2021 and sampled at my house here in Washington on 17-October-2022.

Sample from a 16 ounce can. Murky, orange gold pour. Pillowy white head. Great lacing. Subtle aromas of citrus, cinnamon and vanilla. Flavor follows nose. Bittersweet citrus, vanilla, cinnamon and ginger. Peppery hops in finish.

Can from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours hazy gold with a moderate white head that laced nicely. Aroma of pie spice with emphasis on cinnamon. Approaching full bodied. Flavor is pie spice with strong emphasis on the cinnamon. Plus lactose and vanilla. Spicy rather than bitter. Not exactly dry, but not exactly sweet. Quite a difference from the usual pie spice pumpkin beers.

Pours a hazy amber with a huge white head. Immediate aroma of sweetened malt, pumpkin, spices. Taste has rich pumpkin pie notes, cinnamon, rich and sweet sugary malt. Palate has vanilla, phenolic nose notes, creamy mouthfeel with lingering sweet pumpkin mash, mild hops. Unique, bizarre, really good.
