Hoppy? Brother, 471 IPA redefines hoppy. 471 is a small batch, limited edition ale that was created by our Brewmaster to separate the weak from the strong. 471 is a double IPA, that combines Pale, Munich, Caramel-30, Carapils and Torrified Wheat malts, with Chinook, Centennial, Simcoe and Fuggles hops. It has a big sweet mouthfeel, followed by more hoppiness than you've ever had at one time. Enjoy

Dark golden amber ale with a thick off white head. Lightly alcoholic warmth with good floral hops, and doughy caracter. In mouth, light sweet malt with vanilla notes, good hops, floral hops and resinous, alcohol warmth. Rich and smooth IPA. Sampled with Mtl crew, April 16 2006.

Slowly receding white rim over clear orange-amber beer. Hops, typical C-h’s but all the same restrained, well balanced by biscuit-like malts. Very perfumed but in the best, discreet way. Bitterish taste, nowhere extreme, grapes, sweet and dried but just before the raisin stage. C-hops and their TASTE without excess metallic bitterness. Slick MF, slightly oily; medium to full bodied. Nice, better as expected for this brewery, pleasant surprise at the Essen 2006 International tasting.

This pours with a hazy, deep coppery color that supports a nice thick head that sticks to the glass as it falls. Flowery hop aroma with a touch of citrus. The bitterness comes right on and maintains itself right to the finish. No alcohol detected. Well done IIPA.

Pours beautifully... head is a little sudsy, but still nice and thick. Lacing is outstanding. Body is a nice copper color and aroma is hop heavy. Flavor is well-balanced. Hops mix nicely with sweetness that I wasn’t expecting.

Pour is a good looking orange with a nice white head. Aroma is very fruity with lots of grapefruit to go around. Flavor is dominated by strong malts with just a mild hop flavor. Not reallly a strong IIPA in the hops but it still has its qualities including the low price.

Clear amber/light copper body, thin/medium buff head. Biscuity, earthy, piney aroma with hints of tropical fruit. Tropical fruit (pineapple, etc.) hop notes dominate the flavor profile, balanced by biscuity malts and more typical piney and grapefruity hops. Medium-bodied, sweet, and not too harsh. Solid.

True amber color, if a tad light. Large creamy head. Its all about the hops. Citric and floral dominate. Thankfully there’s a well rounded malt body to smooth it out, vaguely honeyish. A firm bitter finish closes it out. To me, on the upper end of the IPA range rather than a double IPA. Regardless, its good. Wait...9.2%?! Not possible, I drank the whole 22 oz bomber and while I had a slight buzz, it had no where the effect a beer of the strength should have...as if I had drank 2 bottles of Bigfoot - not even close to that.

Crystal clear dark copper color with a thick and foamy off-white head. Thick lacing too. Aroma of hops and pine. Medium-bodied with a dry character. Lots of piney hops and citrus with a good malt backbone. The finish is nicely hopped and citrusy with a lingering sweetness. Pretty good, actually.
