Refreshing Light Summer Lager

A refreshing lager for blazing days, Summerfest balances delicate yet complex malt alongside spicy, floral hops. Hints of lemon zest lead into a crisp finish, and the sessionable 5% ABV invites another round of this summertime beer that pours golden bright like the sun.

Bottle pour; very transparent, gold color. It looks thin, watery but doesn’t taste like it looks. Crisp, refreshing. If BMCs tasted like this, we wouldn’t need this beer. Excellent "lawn mowing" beer.

Brown 350ml bottle poured into a 0.2 litre Veltins Pilsner stemmed tulip glass (twice). Lager looking beer (what a shock!), white head sat on top of a clear golden, bright body. The large head fell away to a thin covering very quickly. The aroma came from the sour end of citrus fruits (lemon, limes and grapefruits) along with a hint of yeast. The taste has a grapefruit tang to it. The other citrus fruits from the aroma didn’t re-appear in the taste. Refreshing and fizzy, this is a summer beer for sure and pleasant one at that. Zesty lager that has a lot more going for it than a lot I’ve reviewed, not bad at all.

Grabbed a sixes from grocery for weekend activities. Pours bright gold with grainy metallic nose. Body is thin. Tastes of grains, light yeast, light hop, floral, perhaps wood. It’s light and crisp I could see drinking while mowing my lawn that is if I didn’t live in high rise in NYC with no outdoor space

Originally rated July 2004. Nice golden yellow colour with a foamy head that last a while. Good amount of lacing. Medium scent of spiced hops with a light touch of grass. Goes down very smooth, with a medium bitterness. Finish is also lightly bitter, with a taste of hop. A very refreshing summer pilsner !

Bottle from Oddbins at London Bridge. Golden colour with a white head. Fresh hoppy nose. Medium malt background in the flavour with a fresh citrus hoppiness in front. Happy summer.

35,5 cl bottle vintage 2011 @ home, BBE 28.03.2012
Aroma has grassy hops, grainy malt and hints of hay. Slightly sweet flavour is also grassy with hints of metal and grain. Much grassy hops in the finish. Not as good as I expected, but this would probably be better if enjoyed in summer – and as fresh.
