(Bottle, a sample, at Pien Shop, 20260821) The beer poured black. No head. Aroma had wood, vinous notes, vanilla, toasted malts and small amount of burnt malts. Palate was full bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, vanilla, vinous notes, sweetness, hint of burnt malts and bitterness. Aftertaste had toasted malts, vanilla, alcohols and bitterness. A tasty brew with strong base flavours combined with equally strong barrel notes.

Bottle at home, last one of 2024 to end on 23456 ratings in total. Always nice to end on a 'round number'. Opaque black colored beer with a small brown colored head. Aroma is malts, bourbon, sweet chocolate notes in the background retronasal, molasses. Flavor is malts, sweet sticky malts, bourbon, vanilla, molasses heavily. Sticky texture, thick viscous oily mouthfeel as the beer coats the inside of your mouth completely, suitable relatively soft carbonation. Pretty good one to finish off 2024. On to the next year!
