An agent of delivery for hops! As always, we believe in balance, so the double-shwack of hops is supported by a dense-but-clean malt base. Huge fruit in the form of mango, passionfruit, guava, citrus and pine makes this a hop head’s delight.

It's blond and clean. It's a bready batch, lean, with strong bitternes, maybe missing the better hop brightness from previous batches, and getting even a bit herbal in the finish.

The oldest Twenty Pounder; it doesn't taste old at all, it's clear, with brisk character; delicious malt base; the only thing that is not up to par is the finish, with some pithy notes.
2022-11-30, can, bb 25-apr-23, so I assume it's 1 month old, 8-5-8-4-16=41
Dark blond colour, clean, with medium head. Strong character of piney hops, and some rougher hop resin; the aroma has some cereals, crackers; the body is lean, with bread flavour; and of course bold bitterness; it's almost more about the malt than the hops. Balanced and smooth.
Not the brighest batch, but still it's a DIPA I would enjoy all year 'round.
2022-06-18, can from The Gull, North Vancouver, 8-5-9-4-17=43I missed reviewing it when fresh, this batch was great, like most have been; this is the last can of the season, it's more than 7 months old; blond and hazy; the aroma still packs a punch, the malts are lean, chewy and juicy; piney character, bold bitterness, compared to a fresh can, this maybe has a bit more vegetable bitterness in the finish.
Lovely.
2020-10-27, bottle from Legacy LRS, Vancouver, 7-5-8-5-17=42
Archetypal modern West Coast IIPA, at least still true to that; it's blond, maybe lighter than previous years, and fairly clean too; it packs a punch of piney hops, the aroma seems less strong, but for sure there's enough flavour; the malt base is excellent, it's crisp, with very little residual sugar.
Still a wonderful brew. Now, please release it in cans.
2017-04-18, bottle from High Point, Vancouver, 8-5-9-5-17=44
Hazy blond-golden color with large head. Nice aroma of resiny and piney hops. The body is the perfect balance between dry and sweet, with crackery malts as base, a touch of biscuity malt, and then the usual potent resiny and piney bitterness, plenty of hop quality, mix of citrus fruits.
Wonderful.
2017-04-28, bottle from High Point, Vancouver, 8-5-9-5-16=43
Hazy golden color with generous head. Delicate aroma, peach, mango, a bit piney. The mouthfeel is lean, quite dry, with elegant crackery malts, hints of toffee, the hops are resiny and very piney, with citrus zest, possibly a bit pithy in the final. Very drinkable.
Excellent as usual, I probably like the flavor more this time, while waiting for the aroma to develop in the next weeks.
2016-05-06, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 16oz, 8-4-8-5-16=41
Golden color, just hazy, with small head. It seems a bit more malty than the one from bottle, maybe it has less carbonation; less pungent, less punching, sweeter, maybe more balanced.
Excellent.
2016-05-02, bottled Apr 08 2016, 3 weeks old, 8-5-8-5-16=42
Golden color, hazy, with generous compact head. Loaded with pungent hopping, the flavor brings fruity and mellow hops too; given the recent trends, it can be considered fairly sweet compared to the most modern ones, but the pale malt flavor is excellent; resiny and piney in the final.
Tonight I'm missing a punch, but it's still a wonderful beer.
2014-06-07, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 7-3-8-5-15=38
Cloudy deep blond color, almost murky, with compact head. Nice hop aroma, fruity hops, light animal character, a bit pungent. Full bodied, although the mouthfeel is a bit oily; moderately sweet, some malt flavor, strong hopping with a lot of resins but also a nice fruity character, and evident animal character too.
Nice but the bottled one is cleaner and more interesting.
2014-06-05, bottle from Viti, Vancouver, 8-5-8-5-17=43
Hazy light amber color, bright, with generous compact head. The aroma is very fruity; there are apricots, plums, and a pungent touch too. The body is manageable, the sweetness is moderate; the hopping has the great value of being very fruity, but also resiny, piney.
Lovely.
2014-04-14, cask at St. Augustine's, Vancouver, 9-5-8-5-18=45
Cloudy light amber color with small creamy head and sticky lace. The aroma is an explosion of fresh tropical fruits, mango, sweet orange; only later it reveals a light animal hop character. It's served at a good warmish temperature; the mouthfeel is lean despite the high gravity, sweet but without being cloying; the malt flavor has a toffee character, hay, grassfields, chamomile; strong bitterness, but considered at the right level, carrying a load of resins and fruits.
Excellent hop bomb.
2011-08-19, bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver, 9-5-8-5-17=44
Amber color, bright, with a medium sized creamy head, persistent. Impressive aroma, hoppy, but also earthy with arrogance; lemony resins and manure, very pungent.
It has a good body strength, with caramel flavor, some toffee too; the sweetness is present but moderate; very powerful hopping, with loads of piney resins and some bitter orange peel; the alcohol is evident, and it's a nice complement in this concoction; the final is extremely long.
Very well constructed hop bomb.
