(Bottle, 0.5l, 20250610) The beer poured brown and clear. Its head was medium sized, white and it lasted long. Aroma had earth, toffee and toasted malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were earth, toasted malts, toffee, sulphur and bitterness. Aftertaste had toasted malts and bitterness. A nice malty brew with interesting features.

Bottle at home after a long Saturday. Busy morning. Afternoon with the wife and ending up with a nice cream tea. Cream first of course. Anyway, time for a couple of beers. Good pour and a really good traditional best bitter. Well balanced rich malt that meant there was a hell of a lot going on for a low abv. Nice one.

(Cask at White Horse, Parson's Green, London, 27 Nov 2022) Dark amber colour with frothy, tan head. Malty nose with notes of caramel, dried fruit, apricots and toast. Malty taste with caramel, toast, dark bread, prunes, dried apricots and a mild earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced bitter. Nice one.

Cask at the brewery. Poured a clear medium amber colour with an everlasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, toffee caramel. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, sweet malt, nutty, herbal, yeasty, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle from Co-op, Eastbourne. Pours a clear light copper colour with a medium sized foamy white head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, floral and biscuits. Taste is more of the same with added notes of fruit salad sweets and earthy hops on a dry finish. Medium to full body with fairly low carbonation. Decent above average Best Bitter.

Cask at the Old Plough, Seaford. Deep amber with a light haze and a moderate white head. Very fruity (berries) with some caramel. Sweetish with a light earthy bitterness. Not a bad bitter at first but got a bit dull by the end.
