12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 8/2/2018. Pours fairly crystal clear deep golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, pepper, pine, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, pepper, pine, toasted bread, light caramel, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, lemon, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/zest, pepper, pine, toasted bread, light caramel, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and slightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 5.9%. Overall this is an awesome IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink; with the modestly bitter/drying finish, never aggressive. Awesome balanced mix of juicy, dank, and vibrant hop complexity; with a nice bready malt backbone. Loved the hop profile as expected, great showcase of the Zythos, Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe, Citra hops. A very enjoyable offering.

Somehow the two Sam Adams I drank in fourth quarter willed the Pats to victory but now I’m so amped have to watch a movie and drink more to get to sleep. Fine orange brew. Nose of pine resin and caramel. Tastes of hop oil, pine, orange citrus, candies fruit. Medium bodied and bitterness.

12 ounce can. Clear medium gold color. Small frothy beige head. Grainy malt nose. Hints of citrus and pine. Crisp, dry bitter hops upfront mask a grainy toasted malt backbone. Spicy, bitter hops in middle and finish. More dank citrus and pine as well. Hops dominate this IPA start to finish.

Keg at Varga in Philly. Pours hazy orange gold with a thin white head. Aroma is bitter orange and a hefty pine dankness with some grapefruit. Taste is a big citrus hit of orange and grapefruit with a dank pine hoppiness kicking in which is mellowed a little by a caramel malt backbone. Solid IPA.

Can from Discount. Pours a clear, deep gold to light amber with a finger of foam. Punchy tangerine, pine needles and caramel on the nose. Well-balanced, very much like a sierra nevada pale ale, but less bitterness. Solid drop!

Feels kinda like the standard model of most mid-range craft IPAs, offering up a citric hop presence with a mild biscuit/caramel malt back, pretty much unidentifiable once you take away the can. Not that Hi-5 is a bad beer, just unremarkable.

7 week old can into a pint. A: Clear orange-gold pour with a (too) massive rocky white head that retains with lots of lacing. S: Interesting balanced scent of toasted bread, caramel and tart orange. T: Bitter pine and orange zest combine with toasted brown bread and some alcohol. Lingering citrus, pith with some sweetness but not too much. M: Light feel with low level of soft carbonation. O: I was drawn to this IPA for its low ABV and found it pretty good. Good smell, nice balance of flavors and not too strong for me. I’d buy again.
