5/X/14 - on tap @ De Hoppeschuur (Knesselare) - BB: n/a (2014-1177)
Clear light blond beer, creamy white head, unstable, dissipates quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, peaches, banana, ripe summer fruit, little floral. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity, some banana, bit of citrus, soft bitterness. Aftertaste: nice fruity notes, banana, bit sweet, some citrus, bit of a chemical bitterness to it.

Draught Huge white & dense head, hazed orange-yellow beer. Citrus and a sourish note, that, indeed, spells buckthorn to me - well known from the dunes. One other herb/spice, difficult to pinpoint exactly. Also some white wine notes - not at all bad. Spicy, faint sourish flavour, with a sweeter undercurrent, and a flowery backthroat flavour that might well be the elderblossom. Finish is a tad empty, alas. Light body, even watery, well-carbonated. Nice & fine, as a drinking ale or to accompany a (fish) dinner - which is exactly its purpose. In itself it is not a true tasting/sipping beer.
