Can. Clear ruby to brown colour with fading beige head. Aroma of semi-roasted malts, moreish chocolate and caramel, nuts. Taste is the same with some brown bread and do es showcase a decent malt quality. Some roasted bitterness balances the sweetness well. Notable hops in the finish could elevate this but it is a brown ale so that's being greedy. It's a very tasty one.

[33cl can from Beer52.] A bright chestnut pour with a tight yellowish beige head; aroma of Demerara sugar; rather thin in the mouth with a rich, sugary date taste; then a pleasant malty finish with more dates and brown sugar, and a lingering trace of malt loaf. A good showcase for the malt.

Cask at the brewery tap, Huddersfield. Mid-brown, a little bit opaque with a small loose beoge-khaki head. Light aroma, some oaky notes, sarsaparilla. Sweet taste at first, with just enough hoppy bitterness to maintain balance, then the bitterness takes over.notes of oak, ruby chocolate and coffee grounds in the aftertaste. Oily body with very soft carbonation. Really nice brown.
