Scottish 80 shilling ale, brewed with Golden promise, black oats, and a delicious heritage variety of rye malt (“Tvengsberg”). If you could magically turn a dad into a beer, they would be this reasonably brown, dependably reliable, and malt forward style.
It tastes of cosy autumn nights with slight toffee and red fruits, and it’s a super easy going 4.5%.

Sampled @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2024, Saturday. Clear reddish brown beer with a beige head. Aroma and Taste of strong grainy malt, cereals, caramel, bread, biscuit.

Can thanks to cgarvieuk. Appearance - deep amber with red chinks. Off-white head. Nose - brown bread, toffee and gentle dried fruit. Taste - malt loaf, orange and toffee. Palate - not too sweet not too dry. Light to medium bodied, great balance. Overall - good example of the style.

Can thanks to cgarvieuk. Pours clear dark amber with a thin off-white head. Aromas of brown bread, faint nuts. Taste is toffee and light spice. Clean finish.

(Keg at Pikkulintu Puotila, 20241108) The beer poured brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had toasted malts, molasses, caramel, chocolate and earth. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were toasted malts, earth, molasses, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste had malts, molasses and bitterness. Tasty.
