Draught at Steel Toad, Vancouver, as Freigeist Geisterzug Gose; 250ml
Light amber, strange color for a Gose, cloudy but bright, with compact head. The aroma is mild, bread and spruce. Good body strength, it’s lowly carbonated and it has some residual sweetness, very low lactic character or acidity, moderate salt, and a trace of spruce. A bit soapy and minty.
It’s clean and it’s not a bad beer, but it removes the good expected characteristics of a Gose.

Bottle from Boxbeers as Geisterzug Spruced. Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, light fruity, light spicy and herbal. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light salty finish. 310816

(Bottle) Hazy yellow colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of white bread, grass, hay, wheat-flour dough, lemon peel and a touch of spruce/pine needles. Malty, fruity taste with white bread, lemonade, lemon peel, hay, coriander, a touch of salt (emerging after a while) and a dry finish with a slight sourness and low bitterness. Medium body, quite dry. Refreshing and tasty, but quite uncomplicated. Enjoyable.

Lemon-lime nose. Clear amber, thick sticky head, crusty bits on the opening of the bottle. Lemon-lime, not very tart, fairly neutral, spruce. Medium body, soft carbonation. I had a berliner weisse with rye recently that was delicious. This is similar, but less tart. I think it works better without the neutralizing salt, but this was good.

Bottled 500ml. -Courtesy of and shared with Domagoj, thanks! Clear golden coloured, small white head, mild spicy nose. Sweetish malty, light spicy, notes of lemon and salt with touch of something (probably spruce needles) in the finish. No real Gose character.

Semmi hab, narancsba hajló borostyán szín. Illata halovány, malátás, enyhén korianderes. Savanyú, korianderes, sós és valami meghatározhatatlan (gondolom a fenyőtű) ízkomponens, közepes szénsavval. Finom, közepesen testes, igazi frissítő.

Shared 16.9 oz. bottle. As Freigeist Geisterzug Spruced Traditional Gose. Hazy straw color with a white head. Aroma is floral, wheat, fruity. Taste is wheat, fruit (perhaps sour apple), light spruce. Finish is slightly tart and mildly salty. Decent.
