A beer that is good to enjoy after the most delicious Christmas food, and can easily be

thoughts to warmth and Christmas when you smell it.
Should be served at cellar temperature (10-12 degrees) to bring out the full flavor.

Bottle @ Odense Tasting , March, 2011. Pours black with a creamy beige head and lacings. Nose is roast and spices. Good roasted flavor with a lots of spices - nells and cinnamon. Well made- but too spicy for my likings.

Draft @ Ølbaren, Copenhagen. Pours a black color with a longlasting tan head. Has a roasted malty spicy chocolate aroma. Roasted malty fruity spicy chocoltate flavor. Has a roasted malty spicy fruity finish with hints of chocolate.

500ml bottle, batch nr. RØ120, 7.7% ABV, bought at Barley Wine in Copenhagen and enjoyed back home i Tromsø as my first beer in 2011. Dense, tan-beige head gradually declining on top of a jet black body. Chocolate malts, spices and dusty hops to the nose. Mouth filling taste of spices like ginger, cinnamon, clove, and anise supported by dark fruits on a chocolate malty backbone. Pine-like hoppiness on the swallow. Medium bodied with a very fine balance between, malts, spices and hops. One of my best this holiday season (Tromsø, 01.01.2011).

Stupenduous foaming to much more dark-beige head than brown-black beer. Creamy coffee & cacao nose, pleasing jumble of different coloured malts, Pecan nuts or suchlike, pearester, and a spicy streak with pepper and cinnamon mainly. More roasted malts and persistent spices; pepper again, cinnamon and suggested cardamome. Strange near-sourish lining, far from unpleasant - spiced mulled milk (from the black cow?) Fiery, hot MF, strengthened by the carbonation, both velvety, viscous and warming. Very good spiced porter, I like it!

Bottle. It’s looking gorgeous in the glass, black as the original sin, and topped by a good dollop of tan, small bubbles forming a lasting head. That’s also the best part of the beer, even though its aroma and flavor are nice as well, just not world class like the head. There’s star anise spicyness and roasted malts on the nose, with the flavor pretty much the same. The aroma is more pronounced on the star anise though, too much I think. Smooth and full-bodied, and a warming, sweet and roasted finish. A nice beer indeed, but definitely not world class. 091127

Bottle 500ml.Clear dark black brown color with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, moderate spicy, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, (good balanced spicy), light alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, chocolate sweet and dark roasted malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100407]
