Tap @ Cape Cod Brewery. Misty amber appearance, foamy white head. Did not expect to find an altbier here.. quite sweet with a nice caramelly character, mildly grainy... fairly low carb and true to character if a little over sweet. Quite nice.

Might be a little late for this past Autumn’s batch, but in my opinion, this one held up until now.
This was poured into a stange. The appearance was a rugged semi-light auburn color with a nice finger’s worth of white foamy head that quickly dissipated.
The aroma had that semi-sweet German yeasty bready/biscuit grassiness flowing into some slight floral esters.
The flavor takes the crisp notes of the German yeasty sweetness to play with the floral esters, nice low bittering hops. Barely any aftertaste, but a slight bready sweetness. No finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionably smooth German yeasty sweetness to occur and flow over my tongue just as an altbier. Fairly low carbonation. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, this is a wonderful interpretation of an altbier and by an American brewer, damn right!

Pours a dark amber with white head and minimal lacing. Aroma and flavor of biscuit, heavy maltiness. Good beer.

Bottled. A dark golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt caramel, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel,, and straw, leading to a dry finish.

weak color and aroma, not much going on here, no real body characteristics that stand out, bready flavor, no hops stand out. watery amber color, aroma is of bready malts. not the best effort here.
