Keg draught at the Real Ale Classroom, Stoneygate, Leicester. Light lagery gold, mostly clear with a small ring of white head and a bit of lace. Smells of fresh grain and dried grass, light lemon notes. Sweet taste, refreshing in the surprise autumn heat wave. Grainy bitterness coming in nearer the finish and lacing the back of the tongue, Body's light but carbonation is pretty heavy.

440ml can, Chez Sophie. Clear gold, white head. Fairly pedestrian helles character, gentle malt sweetness, gentle bitterness, crisp and refreshing but seems a touch thin and lacks body. Fine overall.

Can from Buxton brewery online shop and consumed at Isobel's, Spond, Kington, Herefordshire after a 6hr 30min drive from Diksmuide, Belgium. Pours lemony gold with a light haze, a tiny hint of sulphur on the nose. A little rush of lemon, a touch of water biscuit, slight bitterness, pleasant enough Helles but I think that I am accustomed to many better examples of this style now.

On keg at JD's Smokehouse. Golden yellow with a very light haze and a snow white head. Green beans and corn on both nose and taste. Light bodied and lightly bitter finish. Decent example of the style.
