This review was imported from my RateBeer ratings.
12 oz. bottle, 7.0% ABV, PKG: 03/30/2023, Shelf Life: 6 months
AROMA: I get moderate amounts of grapefruit and pine, with very mild undertones of brown sugar and orange peel.
APPEARANCE: Pours a slightly-hazy dark gold, with a very tall, tight-froth, white head that dissipates slowly and has excellent lacing.
TASTE: The very first sip (and every one after that), reminds me of Arrogant Bastard Ale, because the flavor profiles are THAT similar. I first get sizeable amounts of bitterness, which is then followed by moderate amounts of pine and grapefruit. The bitterness level fades rapidly during the finish and I am left with mild flavors of orange peel, and then a quick "blip" of sweetness.
MOUTHFEEL: Full-bodied with a mildly smooth texture that has just a touch of "roughness" on the edges. Carbonation is a little above average.
OVERALL: I find this to be a very fine beer that I will happily buy in the future. My only real "issue" is not with the beer itself, but with the rating here on RateBeer. I fail to see how it is mathematically possible for this beer to get a 100 in Overall Score, when there are so many user reviews that are in the 3.5 range. I also find it suspect that all of the other Bell's beers that I looked at, also show a 100 for Overall Score. In fact, they all show a score of 100 for Style too. Which kind of makes me go, "Hmmmm".
Scoring suspicions aside, if you don't mind somewhat bitter beers, then you WILL enjoy this one. And I'm not a big bitter-beer fan, so that's saying something.

Can bought from Total Wine & More, St Petersburg. Orange gold with a smalldapple of white head. Smells strongly of pine and pink grapefruit. Wow. Gorgeous and bitter in the mouth, like my tongue in coated in pine resin. Long bitter finish with citrus and pine needles. Medium to heavy carbonation. Did I say it's got pine?

7 October 2022. At Yard House, San Antonio. Shared with the lovely Anke!
Clear amber, stable, foamy, off-white head. Aroma of orange peel, apricot, marmalade, biscuit, caramel, pine resin, perfume. Taste has sweet orange, mango & melon over a firm biscuity, peanutty, caramelly malt base; bitter notes of pine, grapefruit & orange peel. Piney, almost resinous hoppy finish, lingering hints of citrus zest, peels and grapefruit. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Rounded and delicious.

Can. Murky orange golden. Smells not like fish, even though the can pretends. Wood. Creamy, wood. A beautiful edge; nice drinkability.

Super flavorful juicy hops while still being light bodied and crushable and oh hey 7abv. Can't believe it's been this long for me to try this one, after untappd at least.

Bottle from 101 bottles, Kent, OH. Well, the 2nd best IPA in the world, and........I'm not convinced to be honest. Lovely clean hop forward aroma. Copper gold with slight haze. Taste is quite hop forward but not biting. The ending is all rather soapy in its bitterness and booze, I really don't like that ending. Middling IPA imo.
