This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with no head nor lacing.
The smell had a huge amount of dark bitter coffee beans and as it warmed there was a nice sweet balance of cocoa to broaden the aroma.
The taste was mainly bitter and lead to a decent dry sweet balance to the cocoa. A dry sweet to bitter coffee/cocoa aftertaste leads to a dry coffee bean finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed good for the style and for me. Bitter dry coffee sticks to my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good Foreign/Export Stout that I would have again.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a black color with a small foamy tan head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was fairly strong brewed coffee and a bit of wood. The flavor was fairly strong brewed coffee, wood and an acidic presence. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a nice large dark brown foamy head with light retention and almost no retention. Aroma of floral coffee notes is quite enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by floral coffee notes with some light black chocolate notes. Body is a bit thin for style and lack some creaminess. Coffee notes are really great but body is a bit too thin for the style.

Tap. Nice cold filtered coffee aroma. Black, low head. Mellow, sparkly body, light citric tart, extremely coffeeish flavor, toasted bread. Medium to full body, slightly fizzy. Heavy coffee, but balanced and pleasant to drink.

From a 12 oz bottle at home. Pours black with a tan head. Coffee and roasted malt nose, Flavor is even more coffee forward, but in a balance way. Quite tasty.

Draft at Rustico Alexandria. Poured what looked like pitch black in the low light of the restaurant, with a small wispy head that disappeared entirely. Aroma was pretty much like cold roasted coffee. Flavor was pretty much the same with cold roasted notes.
