Bottle from Morrisons in Tiverton. Color: Clear amber, yellow-ish off-white head. Aroma: Caramel malt, hints of floral hop. Taste: A lot of caramel malt, some floral hop in the background. Medium body, below average carbonation. Moderate to ovet moderate sweet, light bitterness.

Cask @ Fortescue Inn, Salcombe. Copper-amber with a small bubbly-frothy head. It’s a bitter in style with a low to mid bitterness, but this allows a hint of sweetness through.

[ As Salcombe Lifesaver ].
ABV: 4.8%. Clear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, caramel, fruity malt. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, pale malt, caramel, dusty. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20190807]

Bottle from the Food shop in Dartington. Appearance - deep copper with a generous fluffy head. Nose - caramel, wet dishcloth and some brown bread. Taste - caramel, biscuit and malt bag. Palate - light to medium bodied. Roasty through middle and finish. Very dry but falls short of being astringent, thankfully. Overall - could be a bit more exciting.

[Cask at the festival at the Bull, Barkham.] An amber pour with a ring of white head; bittersweet caramel aroma; soft caramel taste with a malty body; then a drier finish with a smooth silky mouthfeel. Rather like a Marzen.
