From the fishermen who have fought the harsh waters of the Northeast for generations, to the family clam bakes and lobster boils that celebrate their well-earned bounty, seafood is part of the fabric of every New Englander. We work hard, take nothing for granted, and have a good time doing it. When we crack our first lobster of the season, it's a big deal- an occasion to indulge, reflect, and party with friends and family. Since 1890, Narragansett has been the beer that fishermen toil to earn, and the beer the rest of us salute them with. This beer honors the risk and hails the rewards that comes with every "Fresh Catch." Fresh Catch is a supremely refreshing blonde ale that's dry hopped with citra for a crisp grapefruit finish. Aromas of citrus and passion fruit are very evident, but mild of the palate. Brewed to be the perfect pairing with shellfish or whitefish.

Can. Clear golden in color with a two and a half head. Leans to the hoppy side. Reminds me of a pale ale.

Pour is a hazy orange-ish with a large white head. Aroma is a herbal almost patchouli hop. Flavor is a big let down. Very weak and watery with none of the hops in the aroma showing up in the taste. Some bitterness is felt but that is about it.

12 oz. Can, part of a “Hi, Neighbor!” variety pack. Pours gold, and a little hazy, with plenty of bubbles lining the glass, feed a big, spongy head. Smell is light malts, and yes, there’s that dry-hopped Citra. Taste is similarly light, with happiness sliding in nicely across the top of my tongue. I guess I would call this a hoppy blonde ale rather than an American Pale Ale, but it’s not too far off that style.

355ml can from Stop & Shop, drunk at our hotel in North Quincy, MA. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a good white head. Soft bready aroma. Taste presents bready malts, soft yeast with a pleasant hoppy bitterness, but fairly tame overall.

From a pounder can absconded at total wine in NC. Slight haze on pale, certainly almost looks like a white ale but its a little more yellow. Nice big foamy white head that fades rather quickly. Nose is dull hops with a background of gramma's permanent hair treatment. Taste is at first a little rude for a golden blondie. It needs more carbonation too. Yea, this is a little more hoppy than I like my blondes but it doesn't rise to the level of an IPA bastardized wheat ale. Now in the middle I'm getting a little bit of that astringent bite so common with immature brewers. I'd probably put this in the same category as koch's golden anniversary. Even after a hard day in the hot sun, this doesn't really come across as refreshing.
