On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - opaque black with a thin off white head. Nose - slightly sweet almost confected raspberry. Strawberry laces. Taste - again confected raspberry note dominates. The creamy chocolate comes late and only just pokes its head in. Palate - creamy and medium bodied. Fairly dry finish. Overall - they may be guilty of over engineering here. Maybe fewer raspberries would've made a more enjoyable beer.

Cask handpull at St P Spoons. Black beer thin tan head. Raspberry aroma no doubt. A bit oily in mouth. Some tar and dark chocolate. A bit light in condition. Raspberry dominates throughout. OK If a little artificial .

Cask @ Job Bulman JDW, Gosforth [020518]
Black, dense beige head
Aroma of slight raspberry, hint of dark malt, little on the nose
Taste of dark malts, touch of dark chocolate, soft tinned raspberries
Palate - Medium body, creamy, rather sweet, very smooth. Finish of soft raspberry, dark malts, getting slight toasted notes in linger
Overall - Very smooth sweet porter, easy drinking, nice
