This unique beer is a blend of two separate, bourbon barrel-aged brews from the team at the Open Gate Brewery in Baltimore. Around 60% of the finished beer is a classic Imperial Stout, while an English Barleywine makes up the remaining 40%. Characteristic stout flavors like roast coffee, lightly bitter chocolate, and toasted bread are balanced by the sweeter notes of raisin, plum, and stone fruit from the Barleywine. Truly a one-of-a-kind beer.

12 ounce bottle. Finally getting from of the Guinness from MD. Pours a ruddy brown color with a small white head. A big sweet nose, molasses, bourbon, some caramel. Lovely big beer. Sweet toffee, some sour mash, big hot whiskey, light chocolate. Really smooth though. Very good beer. Love the label.

Promising introduction to Guinness's newfound playful side. Strong toffee-caramel-candy apple notes from the barleywine, followed up by cocoa and char from the stout, all rounded out by vanilla, oak, and bourbon with a nice warming, woody fade. Very tasty.

Bottle from Bert's Crystal clear deep brown with faint garnet at the edges and a small off white head that dissipates quickly. Vanilla and brown sugar with a hint of chocolate and roast. Light bourbon and spicy wood. A little sweet and sticky but that's a pretty nice beer.
