Batch #053, dated 12/10/2015.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a glossy to hazy burnt orange color with a thin film of a white head. Thin foamy lace clings to the side of the glass nicely.
The smell starts off with sweet to bitter orange pulp and rind burning into juicy sweet almost grapefruit sweetness.
The taste was moderately sweet with an ample amount of bitter grapefruit to orange pulp to rind riding on into the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a nice juicy sweet sessionability about it. Carbonation rides fairly low on this one.
Overall, drinking this makes me never want to drive out to Hill Farmstead ever again as this is an exceptionally well done DIPA. Holy damn and a half!
