Sample at Shelter pours a clear dark orange with some cloudy white head. Nose is fine, malt, root vegetables, some sour orange. A little mild. Some neutral oak lurking. Flavor is malt and Brett b and wood pulp. Sour finish. Hits peppery. Medium acid. Medium bodied.

April 2024 bottle drunk 12/31/24.
Clear, ruddy amber. Small, off-white head.
Rich sherry, honey-like base malt and both fruity Brett and Sacch give it a complex, inviting, balanced character. The sherry adds a real vintage-like element or, perhaps, an old timey feel to it that makes me think of drinking English beer in the 1800's and earlier. Brett adds just a hint of tartness.
In the mouth it's phenomenally flavorful with everything you'd want and hope for from a traditional bitter from the pre-indudstrial England. Mildly tart fruitiness, not too much, with ample base malt, tasteful toast and caramel from the medium malts, and a glorious sherry character that elevates and exemplifies. Good attenuation, not too much Brett. If this beer confuses you and/or doesn't impress the hell out of you, you need to learn the history of beer.

On tap at Churchkey. Dark lemon tea, honeyed pour. Extra frothy, sticky head. Soft, red sangria & thin caramel nose. Served just a little chilled. Taste is astringent lemon tea, cherry/vinous sherry, leather Brett, medium high acid, gentle but constant carb, a little bit of sweet cream & dry cracker on the tail. Hit all my sour notes. Good+.

Snally: pours amber with white head. Aroma is weirdly malty and funky. Weird mix of England and Belgium. Don't know what to think of it.
