A Czech take on the classic German Schwarzbier style, this is a complex, smooth drinking black lager, with a rich roast coffee and earthy hoppy nose. Flavour has dark chocolate, sweet treacle and dark plum notes. The soft lingering dry finish has complementary roast and sweet character. At 5.7%, it is a perfect blend of full-bodied taste and smooth creaminess in the mouth.

Smooth, creamy, light roast. Bit of a hoppy sparkle. Body is almost black IPA like. Very smooth. Like it!

Can, thanks Milan! Murky brown body, off white head. Chocolate & coffee in the aroma, cookie-like. Light light chocolate taste, dry, toasty, lightly herbal and a bit soapy. Interesting, well made dark lager! Once can see that the brewmaster's Czech!

Keg at German Kraft Beer. Light chocolate aroma. Dark and glossy. Thick light beige head. Light bitter. Chocolatey and malty. Medium bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Long if low key finish. Tasty stuff. Not sure I would want to drink too many in one sitting but a characterful beer.

Keg at the Bottle Shop - Bermondsey. Pours deep brown with an extremely dense, creamy khaki head. Has a fairly nice cocoa aspect about it, mellow roast, dark fruits, raisins, prunes, light ash and earth. Light bodied with soft carbonation - seems it all has cocentrated kn the head, as with a nitro pour. Finishes with rounded chocolate character, soft roast, more dried berries. Not bad.

On tap at The Bottle Shop Bermondsey. Black beer lasting tan head. Attractive chocolate sponge aroma. Lighter chocolate in the mouth. Pretty good though. Love the aroma.

Keg at the Rake, 18/08/18. Light black with a decent tan cap that dissipates to a swirl. Nose is dark malts, tangy dark fruits, brown bread, grains, burnt toffee. Taste comprises tangy fruits, bitter dried berries, fruit loaf, light sour, lactic pinch. Medium bodied, fine to spritzy carbonation, drying close. Ok for style if a bit tangy ... unsure of the intent in that respect.
