Re-igniting the debate of whether it's a stout or a Black IPA (it's a stout, seriously), we've dry hopped this massive beer with a metric tonne of Columbus, Mosaic and Simcoe to add a hoppy bite to all those amazing roasted barley flavours.
Expect a swag bag of bitter, piney and resinous hops paired up with coffee, chocolate and smokey notes for a beer that is as complex as it is delicious.

440ml can from Chez Sophie. Pours almost pitch black with large tan collar. Big pine and roast on the nose.t Taste is dusty coal-blackened malt with shards of pine, doused in mosaic and simcoe, with a sultrously slick body. Excellent hoppy stout that doesn't hold back.

Can from Eltham Wines, Eltham. Black pour with a tan head. Coffee, cocoa and liquorice aroma. Similar approach in the flavour. Nice.

440ml can from Chez Sophie; BB 14th Oct 19. Drank at home on 14th June 19. Very, very dark brown, tanned collar and wisp. Aroma held dark chocolate esters, the taste also dark chocolate flavoured at first, then vanilla and coffee notes arrive, some hidden red berries and a spruce hop content adds to the late bitterness, some heat from somewhere also. Actually the finish is proper harsh and bitter.

Can from Lupe Pintos. Dark brown body with a beige head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of pine, ash and berries. Flavour of blueberries, pine and coffee. Medium body with a smooth texture. Soft fizz. Another well made beer from this brewery. More of a Black IPA than a Stout.
