Dripping Pitch is a decades long experiment on the flow of a highly viscous liquid. Some would say IPA has also become a decades long experiment changing and flowing with our taste and location. This West Coast IPA is but one stop on the IPA trip, citrus, zest and resin usher in this crisp and bitter blast from Cali.

Keg draught at the Canalhouse, Nottingham. Mid- to dark gold, a bit hazy but clears. Ring of white head. Aroma of stone fruit, tangerine, papaya. Balanced taste, bittersweet with a dry and very bitter finish. Light body, carbonation on the heavy side. Decent but not exceptional.

Can. A medium haze on this yellowish gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Thinnish but adequately sweet pale malts, thin malt cream. Hop spice combines with smooth pine, mildly sweet. Touch of tropical fruits into some spicy citrus. Modest peel and pith lurk underneath. Finishes light and spicy and leaves a long citrus peel bitter linger along with some tingling hop spice. The best thing about the West Coast IPA is that it's not very West Coast at all. Tres drinkable!

Can, picked up at the brewery. Canโ€™t get the low ratings for this. Light haze on a pale gold. Decent white head. Nose is all ripe and soggy citrus and stone fruit, with a pile of sappy, sticky pine. Clean malts. Bright and fresh. Taste is punchy bitter with a light clean malt sweetness. Medium body with soft carbonation. Lingering sappy bitterness to finish. Well up my street.
