Our flagship IPA get funked up. Punk meets funk for an immersive lesson in fermentation. Aged in fiant foeders and dry hopped to oblivion. Old World meets new in this returned ale. Perfectly balanced, funky and complex flavours. Tropical fruits on the nose followed by punchy juicy dry notes and a little spice packed to the rafters with citrus hop flavour. A silky, chewy body culminates in a canvas dry finish.

From tap at BPBW '19, Friday session. I only took numerical notes while having this one.

Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Aroma is bretty and fruity with malt, soft hoppy notes, a touch of red wine and oak, more funk, grapes, orange, ripe fruit, apricot, hint of vanilla. Flavour is tartish with a mild sweetness and bitterness. Body is medium. Nicely 'bretted' version of Punk, it works.

Pours clear blonde, medium small to small white head. Scent is mild, brett, but simple. Taste is full, brett, fairly bitter. Mild bready malts. OK.

Hazy, murky, golden color and a white head. Restrained nose, tart, funky and fruity. Sour, bitter, hoppy and only faint brett. Btw IPA?

Bottle. A hazy orange colored beer with a small white head. Lightly funky aroma with orange, some leather, and a pleasant pine hint. Grapefruit and some barnyard. It's full bodied, dry and softly carbonated, with a decent bitterness. Grapefruit, pine cones, leather, orange zest, lemon notes and a barnyard hint in the flavor. Long finish. Sure pleasant, there's not enough of these funky beers on the market, but I'd like more complexity. 201230

Brett fruity, simple brett ipa. Ok . It Brewdog in a nutshell, a lot of hype, but not that much exciting really happening.
