Bottle from Deconinck. Hazy black, small, foamy, beige head. Aroma of dried orange peel, candied apricot, fig, prune, dark fudge, chocolate praliné, biscuit, Grand Marnier, meringue. Taste has sweet candied orange, prune & fig in a thick chocolatey & toffee-like malt body, a bit toasty, nutty, touch of coffee roast too. Earthy, bit peppery hoppy finish, spicy notes over dried fruit & orange; ends with warming bourbon alcohol. Full body, oily texture, soft carbonation. A 'whole' and thus enjoyable experience.

Bourbon barrel aged stout flavoured with oranges, thanks Steve for sharing! Pale yellow-beige, thin, dissipating and open ring of foam over misty dark chocolate brown beer with ruddy hue. Aroma of hard caramel, old dry liquorice, blue plum, candied orange peel, bourbon, old oak barres, bayleaf, dry red wine, Cointreau, bitter chocolate, dust. Dryish onset, prunes and dried figs, light umami effect (porcini), soft carb; full chocolatey malt core, bittersweet, molasses and walnuts – yet remaining rather dry, especially when a tannic woodiness sets in and strongly so. Hints of liquorice, bayleaf, thyme, clove and indeed dried orange peel play retronasally, while the bourbon becomes ever more clear, ending with strong, even astringent bittersweet booziness. Intense and boozy, not an easy one but admittedly original and multi-layered, interesting.

Frothy off-white good mostly lasting head. Black colour. Heavy malty and hoppy aroma. Heavy bitter flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Strong vanilla notes. Creamy palate.

Bottle @ Højbjerg tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, chocolate, caramel, whisky, alcohol, dried fruits and has warming finish. Slightly boozy.
