This beer is brewed in Lejre, land of the Vikings, in honour of Odin, other gods and good people. At the brewery you often see and hear two ravens flying around. We are sure that they are Hugin and Munin, Odin's ravens who are out to find news for him, and what place is better to look at than Hornbeer.
Raven is an amber coloured and sweet beer, not as sweet as the gods' former favourite drink Mjöd, but just as high in alcohol percent and that is what the gods like.
In Valhalla we are sure that Mjöd has now been replaced by Raven, and therefore, we reserve the right to call ourselves "Supplier for the Nordic gods".

slightly flowery, very nutty malty, slightly caramelly, where's the belgian yeasty notes? very clean, even for a belgian dubbel, reminds me of belgian macro dubbel beers unfortunately. 6/10
flavor is malty and nutty 7/10

pal 3/10
scandinavian interpretation of belgian dubbel, the high alc% (for a dubbel) is well hidden

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an almost clear dark amber with a small and creamy, lacing off-white head. Næsen har lidt støvet humle oven på noter af mørke, tørrede frugter samt et strejf af alkohol og belgisk gær. Very rich and full body, some rock sugar and molasses, dried dark fruit. Never gets cloying though, as the finish has plenty of hops and an almost roaring alcohol. 071220
