Pale Ale - New England / Hazy Regular
Score

ABV: 5.6% IBU: - Ticks: 10
The most recent addition to the lineup of mythical brewery beasties, Ratclops is a scrappy new pale ale. Despite appearances, it’s very approachable and unapologetically delicious — we think it will soon burrow its way into your hearts. Ratclops is hopped with citra, loral and simcoe, comes in at a breezy 5.6% and showcases notes of stone fruit, clementine, and pineapple.

There was a time when this would have been a pretty hoppy IPA. Not complaining though. Nice, crisp, fruit based accents on a soft malt base. The hazy light straw body hints at strong citrus notes with a bit of pineapple bite. Doesn't go overboard with NE juiciness.

16oz (thx, Chris S., for the box forward!) @ 🏡 shared with wife.
Aroma: nice tropical fruits, juicy, some sweetness.
Taste: along the same lines, crispy, a bit astringent.
Overall: good one.

Sampled at Snallygaster 2023. Pours a murky yellow, white head. Mixed tropicala nose, some citrus, flowers. Flavor is lower end pulp. It's fine. Floral, malt is chewy, some citrus, some mixed tropical fruits. OK.

On tap at Bellwoods, pours an opaque yellow with a small white head. Aroma is chalky with a fair amount of hop burn and muddled earthiness. Flavour is pretty muffled in the hop department, with cardboardy earthy hops, and a load of chalk. Another poorly calibrated hazy. The hops don't shine and there's really nothing to dig about this.
