Marzipan

Draught @ Delaneys, Odense. Pours pinkish red with a small head. Almonds and cherry extract. Cherry Stone. One sided and slightly artificial. Medium bodied.

50cl can from the nutcracker box. Am I nuts? it's nut cristmas yet.. but with only 12 cans and no numbers, it's a nutty cristmas calendar anyways. Pours dark red with a red head, looks really amazing i must say, super red. Aroma is yoghurt (in the very beginning) red cherries, marzipan. The yoghurt disappears fairly quickly, leaving behind a very good ripe cherries and marzipan aroma that is full and deep. it is closer to the cherry-sauce you would put onto a ris a la mande than the aroma of a lou pepe. In its own way, super nice aroma. solid aroma for a fruit beer. If you were expecting lambic like wildness you will be very disappointed though. Flavor is lots of cherries, fresh cherries, not ris a la mande cherry sauce, fainter marzipan, fainter cherry kernels or bitter nutty note. the base beer seems to be more wild than sour, so a sort of herbal saison like base, the cherries are way more dominant though. The beer is sour though, the base beer is pulling the cherries into sour land a bit. Awesome fruit beer and an interesting, easy drinking, easy to go to sour, but not anything near fruited lambic so don't expect an extreme sour. alc. super well hidden.

Draft. A dark red beer with a pink head. The aroma has notes of cherries, vanilla, and yoghurt. The flavor is sour with notes of cherries, lemons, vanilla, and yoghurt, leading to a dry finish.
