Pours a clear light golden yellow with a white head that quickly disappears to virtually nothing. Aroma is stale grains and a little grass. Goes down like water.

33cl bottle at a café in Yerevan. "Alcohol not less than 4.8% by vol." is written on the bottle. Pale golden with a white head. One of the most common Armenian beers, but not the best one in my opinion. Quite standard industrial pale lager. Light, medium sweet and grain, but goes down quite easy. The glass bottles were okay, but I also tried it from a PET-bottle and it was quite bad. Not sure if it’s the same beer - it was marked with 3,8% ABV, but this could also be a typo.

Small offwhite head. Clear yellow body with light carbonation. Light mint and vegetables aroma. Dry-sweetish grainy minty taste with wet sheep and minerals notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry-bitter metallic mineraly aftertaste with minty earthy notes. Interesting and different, with definite character. (0.5l bottle shared by gr0ve.)

500 ml green bottle, many thanks to the ever attentive yngwie, who this way gave me a new "beer country" on my list. ABV is 4.8%. Appears to be imported to Sweden via France. Golden colour, large and lasting white head. "Skunky" Heineken-like aroma (which I do not necessarily find horrible) , also some less pleasant vegetable notes. The flavour is first slightly citrussy and refrehing, then overtaken by unpleasant notes of cardboard, over-boiled vegetables, dust and metallic hop extract. Disgusting aftertaste. Sure, you could probably survive on Kilikia in the Armenian summer heat, but there is hardly any reason to export this stuff.
