A crisp, clean and refreshing beer made from lager malt and German hops. A fruity flavour with a floral, spice and citrus aroma from Perle and Mittlefruh hops. Pale straw in colour as the name suggests. The newest addition to the core range due to its popularity when introduced as a seasonal beer.

Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Poured a crystal clear straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is light skunky malt, light hop. The flavour is moderate to light bitter with a light watery malty floral hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at Post Office Vaults. It pours clear pale gold with a small white head. The aroma is soft, mellow, grainy, porridge, straw and earth. The taste is dry, bitter, grainy, grassy, sugary, spice, earth and porridge with a drying finish. Light body and fine carbonation. Fairly so-so. Run of the mill golden ale imo.

Clear golden, bit of citrus and caramel in the aroma. Not a great deal of flavour. Some lemony citrus, hop, tangy lime and maybe a hint of the caramel but it’s all a bit tame and subdued.

Hand-pulled half-pint in The Horse and Jockey, Litchfield on 25th April 2015. Clear light golden pour with a full white head. Strange aroma and taste, dry grapefruit and other semi-sour citrus notes throughout didn’t do it for me at all. Others may well love this style, but I am fed up to the teeth with them. Scored objectively.
