Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Strong and roasty with dark chocolate, ash, burnt malt, touch of coffee. Medium sweet with a bittersweet finish. Strong, but not too boozy. Good body.

Sample, thanks oh6gdx! Black, minimal head. Aroma of soy sauce and licorice. Very sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Earthy licorice and treacle. Intense warming finish. Big and bold.

Can (from Viking Grace, thanks Jojo!). Pitch black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is liquorice, some toffee, chocolate and mild syrupy tones too. Flavour is super sweet, liquorice, chocolate, alcohol, some syrup and mild toffeeish tones to it. A bit too inkyish boozy, but otherwise nice.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Clear dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, decent fine carbonation. Light but rich dark malts, a little unsweet dark chocolate. Some mild bitterness in the mid. Modest ripe fruits. Finishes quite light and with a mellow boozy spice. Refreshing to have a big dark beer that is not part of the normal pastry onslaught!

Can at home picked up from HOTM. A opaque, black brown coloured pour with a fading kahki head. Aroam is meaty roast, charred black sugars, liquorice, meaty. Flavour is composed of big thick chewy roast, light smokey bacon, ham glaze, spicy finish, chopotle, super chewy. Palate is medium sweet, chewy, moderate carbonation. burnt toffee. warming alcohol. super chewy.

Can at home, from HOTM online, 26/08/24. Pitch black with a good sized lasting khaki head. Nose is rich roast, light smoke, dried fruit esters, charr, dark chocolate, burnt toffee, hint of liquorice. Taste comprises sticky fruit cake mix, chocolate, toffee, dates, figs, dark malts, spice, charr, raisins, molasses, toasted brown sugars, aniseed trace. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Solid sipper ... liquid fruit cake in a glass.

Can, huge thanks Trnka for sharing! Blackish body, no head. Creamy aroma, soy sauce, chocolate and coffee. Lean taste, light roasty coffee, bit citric, soft fruitiness, light chocolate. Tasty and well balanced, excellent but for the aroma, dare I say!
