Two 330ml bottles @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, Oct 17. Pours dark with thin tan head. Light fruity aroma. Taste isn't as sumptuously smooth and rich as expected, some underlying almost brett-like tang adding a little disruption to the burnt fruity malt and chocolate flavours. Interesting and not what I'd expect from St Austell.

Cask at GBBF, courtesy of Bryan and Ian, Tuesday 7th August 2017 Pours dark brown with a light tan rim, initially sweet but you realise that this is not so very sweet, certainly not the rich, thick, super indulgent stouts you often get, this is a little more traditional. Think dark fruits, bitter, roasty good but with a boozy edge. Nice. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15 3.7
