Cask at the Great British Beer Festival 2017, day one - London. Pours clear brown with a light, foamy tan head. The nose holds toasted toffee, light cocoa. Light sweet flavour, more toffee, brown bread. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Smooth finish, further toasted toffee, bready malts. Enjoyable mild.

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol 20/8/2019. Dark brown, with a thin, off-white, head. Brown sugar, a touch of fruity sweetness, slightly toasty malts and a gentle finish. Fine.

Cask (handpump) @ GBBF 2017, [ Great British Beer Festival 2017 ], London Olympia, Hammersmith Road, London, England W14 8UX.[ As Beowulf Nordic Noir ].Clear dark brown colour with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, chocolate, sweet malt, spicy, light roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, sweet malt, dark malt, spicy, chocolate. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20170808] 6-2-6-3-12

Cask @ GBBF 2017. Pours a dark amber brown black color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel aroma. Slightly roasted malty caramel flavor. Has a slightly roasted malty caramel finish.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Clear amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Soft malts, silky even. Smooth cocoa dark chocolate malts, sweetish. Mild tangy dark fruits underneath. Finishes with still more cocoa powder. The smoothness pulls this one together.

Cask at GBBF’17, day one, 08/08/17. Rich mahogany brown with a reddish glint topped with a light beige cap. Nose is biscuit, toasted brown sugars, spice, dark fruit tang. Taste comprises sweet malts, caramel, dried fruits, light spice, brown sugar, light roasted elements. Medium bodied with a bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough boosty mild if a touch sweet.
