The human tendency to seek patterns in random information. The strongest of our core range was inspired by sipping (rather strong) beers and philosophising about life. A Belgian-style Tripel of a simple composition – the palest Pilsner malt, sugar to lighten the body, and some hops to balance it out.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - golden with a decent head and a slight haze. Nose - major banana note. Taste - more banana and slight coriander note. Yeah coriander keeps coming. Palate - medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Though not as dry and tangy as authentic Belgian version. Overall - ode to Tripel Karmeliet it is! And it gets 80% of the way there.

Keg @ Tilt. Pours hazy gold, small white head. Aroma is familiar tripel esters. Taste is smooth, well balanced not overly sweet with well pronounced tripel flavours. Yep, another good one from L&G.

Keg at the Three Johns, 24/11/16. Pale golden blonde with little in the way of a head. Nose is pear drops, light varnish, straw, caramel. Taste comprises more pear drops, sweet, caramel, fruit loaf, stewed prunes. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok for style ... the sweetness doesn’t run riot but not something I’d go for again.

Keg at Three Johns. It pours clear golden with a small white head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, candied apple, pear drop, banana split, marshmallow and white sugar. The taste is crisp, bitter - sweet, apple, banana, candied peel, pear drops, spice, alcohol, flump and bitter grass with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A bit sweet if truth be told. Not bad.
