500ml bottle: BBE March 2023. Drank at home on 26th May 2022. My first beer from these guys. Tanned head on a near black body. Chocolate lead in both the nose and taste, coffee traces also in this malty brew. Decent!

Cask at Shrewsbury Arms, Stafford. Pours almost black with a small foamy cream head. There’s a pleasant aroma of roast malts and chocolate with hints of molasses. Very smooth in the mouth, with malts and chocolate again to the fore. Plenty of dark fruits too, plus traces of nuts, toffee and ash. Surprisingly the finish is quite bitter. A very welcome contrast from my previous beer.

Bottle from The Farm Shop, M5 Gloucester Services. Pours black with a fast dissipating beige head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, caramel, ash and nuts. Taste has more of the same notes again, ashy with milk chocolate and coffee. Medium body with low carbonation and a very smooth mouthfeel. Nice one.
