Visual pairing – Falling Down (1993)
...the best time to crack open I’ll Call For You is when D-Fenz trashes a convenience store over the price of a can of Coke (imagine how he would feel in 2024!). When you’re watching that scene, grab the beer out of your fridge and press it against your face just like Douglas does then enjoy the hop intensity in your first sips and the dry crisp finish .

Can at home, from the peddler in Reading, 20th October 24. Pours a clear golden caramel colour. Aroma is floral, citrus, pith. Taste is floral, light skunk, dank, clean, some pine resin. Decent enough, I’d prefer more bitterness

440ml can. Clear golden, white head. Aroma of citrus and resin, caramel, light vinous hint. Taste has some sweet caramel malts, citrusy, orange and grapefruit, resinous, biscuit malt, finish is quite bitter despite the sweet caramel start, and it lingers too, also a mild vinous white wine note creeping in from Nelson. Medium bodied. Would've preferred this to be more bitter from the get-go but it's really good anyway, Nelson could've been stronger too.

Can from the brewery subscription. Aroma is malty and fruity... warm. Herbal edge. Slightly hazy peachie gold. Frothy foamy white head. Medium-heavy bitter. Resinous. Citrus. A peripheral combination of herbal and vinous notes. Underlying malts and grains. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Carbonation is soft with a lazy fizz. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. A restrained West Coast IPA. Not overly bitter but flavoursome.
