300ml cask ale, pumpa, at LaBeerYny Craft Beer Pub, shared with Finn. Black in the glass, covering beige head, spotty lacing. Smoothly roasted chocolate malts on the nose, promising. Fine blended malt-forward flavours of chocolate, oatmeal, and a backdrop of coffee. Smoothly roasted ending. Medium bodied. Pleasing. (Gdansk 21.10.2024).

Bottle on 22nd May 2021. Pours deep sepia with shallow off-white foam and spot lacing. Chocolaty malt aroma. Mildly spicy roast malt in-mouth with sweet nuttiness, and a roasty finish. Tangy and resinous notes if large gulps are taken. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

Bottle from Beer52. Black with a negligible tan head and a light fizz. Nice and smooth. Definitely porridge up front, which was odd but strangely comforting. Then chocolate and liquorice give sweetness, but also a sour tang that I wasn't sure about. Overall it's not bad, but I've had far better in this style.

15/1/2021. Bottle sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, liquorice, black treacle. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, smooth texture, soft carbonation. Roasted and bittersweet to finish. Good body to it for it's relatively modest abv. Quite enjoyed it.
