Sweet Gale er det engelske navn for Porse. Sweet Gale er også den første øl i vores signaturserie af historiske øl.
I forrige århundrede brugte man ofte porse i ølbrygningen i stedet for den dyre importerede humle. Derfor kaldte man også porsen for fattigmandshumle. Sweet Gale er en gylden lagerøl med rund og aromatisk smag af porse. Det er en øl, der egner sig lige så godt til frokosten, som til ikke for tunge middagsretter.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! --Clear golden, small head. Aroma of earthy bog myrtle. Mid sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Fruity and bready malt. Aromatic bug myrtle and lates summer forest blossom. Low to medium bitterness.

Sample (thanks fonefan!). Yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma is floral, some herbal, mild sweet malty tones. Flavour is malty, some herbal, floral, mild earthy and honey tones to it.

KYGGK 230123. Golden-yellow color with an off-white head. Aroma is citrus, fruit, malt. Flavor is citrus, fruit, malt, grain, herbs, orange zest, bread, gale. Ordinary beer.

Bottle. A lightly hazy golden colored beer with a dense finger-thick off-white head. Curtains. The aroma is sweetish, with some herbal notes. Orangey zesty notes. Some bready notes. It's medium bodied, softly carbonated, with not enough bitterness. Bready pale malts, sweet gale, white sugar, generic fruityness and a herbal hint. Medium length finish. Too sweet this one, almost kveik-ish, decent. 230121

0.5 l bottle, best before March 2022. Clear, golden with a medium large, foamy, stable, white head. Sweetish, gently fruity-floral aroma of lemon peel, dough and some honey. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, gently fruity-floral taste of grains, honey, some dough and a touch of lemon peel, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly herbal and a bit yeasty finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite simple but nicely quaffable.

50 cl bottle purchased at a Netto discounter. Clear golden colour with a thin white head. Sweet aroma with grasses, a herbal frutiness that really showcases the sweet gale. Taste is sweet. Medium bodied. Drying and a lightly bitter finish with lots of sweet gale.

500ml bottle, kindly shared by djoeye. Steady white head, cloudy golden, lacing rings down the glass. Restrained aromas of bog myrtle and grass. Mid-sweet spiced ripe fruity flavours. Drying ending with continuing spices. So and so. (Rating session with Finn, djoeye and lmojoh, Tromsø 16.05.2020).
