Bottle shared at tasting. Opaque dark brown color, almost no head. Aroma and flavor are so.ething weird, absolutely not what I like. Weird vanilla raspberry sweet ice cream or something. Milkshake. Horrible. Drainpour.

Bottle from the brewery online shop. Pours black with a thin tan head. Aromas of vanilla, chocolate, faint whisky and peanut butter. Taste is more of the same. Muted barrel action and a bit too sweet for me.

Bottle ordered from Buxton online shop and delivered to my dad's and picked up when I was in the UK over Easter. Had this at home Thursday 30th May 2024 listening to ByteFM in bed after a Pork and Lemongrass Meatballs with a Thai Sauce and Rice. Pours black with a slim tan head. As one would expect the peanut butter dominates the nose but there are some whisky notes and a vanilla oaky edge. I really don't recall the other variants being so full on sweet, maybe it's just this batch? Peanut butter and chocolate in the mouth along with caramel and toffee, but the whisky is strangely somewhat muted. There is a very subtle bitterness and the mouthfeel and carbonation work well. All told I am a little bit disappointed with this variant, it really struggled to hit the high notes and the sweetness seemed to drown out all else.

Bottle. Black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is peanut butter, some barrel, mild biscuity and chocolate cookies to it. Flavour is chocolaty, some mild alcohol, peanut butter, wood and mild toffee tones to it. Smooth, and enjoyable.

Bottle. Buxton online. Nearly black. Fine tan head is leggy and semi lacing. Notes of peanut butter. Light oaky bourbon. Dark chocolate brownie. Taste is full on brownie and bourbon sweetness. Little other than that. Slick and rich and surprisingly easy drinking. Fine carbonation. What bitterness there is comes at the end. A novelty beer that’s not been especially enhanced by being stuck in a barrel. Smells good though.

Bottle. I'm a big fan of the original yellow belly so I have been looking forward to this. Pours a thick black with no head. Aroma is very rich, super intense toffee and butterscotch, chocolate and vanilla. Full body. Flavour is rich, malty and sweet, but clearly balanced by the scotch. Again loads of caramel, chocolate, vanilla and a sweet whisky in the finish. Beautiful.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 16/11/23. Black with a thin khaki cap that dissipates to a swirl and spotting. Nose is sweet malts, chocolate, vanilla essence, peanut butter, toffee fudge, brown sugar melt. Taste comprises chocolate, mellow roast, toasted brown sugars, peanut butter fudge, cacao, toffee, nutty. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced kiss of alcohol. Fun impy ... carries the 12% well and with a decent peanut butter profile ... runs a touch sweet for my liking but the sweetness is kept in check pretty well.

6th November 2023
Semi opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth and fairly light palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth sweetish dark chocolate malts. Mild nuts. Creamy dark chocolate. The barrelling comes through on the back end, a mellow but nicely rounded fruity whiskey affair that not only adds dimension but does the even more important job of tempering the inherent sweetness of the base beer. Light and semi dry finish. Rather good.
